Turn subject 30-40 degrees to their left (a lot more flattering than face on!)
   
       
 
  • Mortar Board off - held with right hand underneath, left hand on side • Square cap 1” above eyebrows, tassle over left eye
• Straight bow tie
• Hood with two rows of fur
• White cuff showing
• When subject turned to their right (we normally suggest turn to the left), ensure daylight between face and tassle of square cap.
 

Additional Pose for Ladies
Looking over right hand shoulder to show back of hood. Not recommended for men.

  • Bow tie straight
• Hood folded outwards to show two parellel rows of colour
• Loop fixed to button
(can be retouched out later)
• Hood inside out • Bow tie straight
• Square cap 1” above eyebrows
(same applies to ladies soft cap)
• Tassle hangs over left eye
(loose threads can be retouched later)
       
 
  • Hold a cap in both hands, arms slightly bent
• Don’t forget to show white cuffs
• Always show white shirt cuff
• Hold mortar board with right hand underneath and left hand on side
• Hide sleeve loops - circled
(can be retouched later)
• Always show white shirt cuffs

Holding A Certificate
